Blxengine is an attempt at creating a third party implementation of the Roblox engine using LLMs. We do not ship any copyrighted content. This is still a very early project. While it is playable, few games have been tested, and most of them are quite old. Unlike Roblox, there is no distributed physics. Though internet play is supported, LAN is recommended. Play it in your browser here.
The engine is developed using open source references and publicly visible runtime behavior.
The engine is able to load and play some of the games on the Old-Open-Source-Levels repository.
Engine Details:
- Built on C++, Luau, Bullet Physics, Magnum
- 50+ services, 500+ properties, 100+ events, and 250+ methods implemented
- Code-generation based reflection
Various features have been implemented, such as:
- Full character system and multiplayer
- Legacy features: old vehicles, basic tools, welds, connectors, terrain (ClusterGridV2/SmoothGrid), effects
- Various lighting modes, SSAO, shadow maps
- Filtering enabled and disabled
- GUI support
- Basic game editor
- Various core script eras supported, from the Core-Script repository.
